SR3D on a Mac

Postby Akis » Thu Jan 09, 2014 8:00 am

Hello Sergio, sorry for my English, but I'm French and more I'm on Mac.

I have a mac Pro with OS 10.8.3 and a video-cart ATI Radeon 5870.
I've installed the latest version of SR 3D Builder on a Bootcamp partition, the program works perfectly ( Windows Seven Ultimate x64 ). I am registered.
I would like to use it with Parallels Desktop but with the same settings as Bootcamp it does not work properly, I can only see the surrounding box of the parts. I have installed framework 3.5 and DirectX, my graphics drivers are up to date.
Do you have a solution to this problem and do you intend to remedy this defect in a future release ?
I really appreciate this program and if I could use it with a virtualizer that would be even better.

Thanks.

If you have a solution please post it. I am running Bootcamp too just because of SR3D.

I tried with VMWARE FUSION and the result is the same as PARALLELS DESKTOP, SR3D does not work normally.
For now I have no other solution than using BOOTCAMP.
It would be interesting to have more details on the configuration for use SR3D on VMWARE quoted on the topic viewtopic.php?f=19&t=583.

Thank you for the suggestions

I confirm. I tested VMWare Fusion 6 with Win7, Parallels with Win7 and Win8.1 as well as Bootcamp via Parallels - neither does work.

Bootcamp alone works but using it via Parallels ends up in an empty SR3D workspace. It's the same now with Win8.1. With Win7 SR3D Builder crashes (what it did with Win8.1 too a couple of weeks ago; maybe a Win8.1 update has been helpful here but still I can't see my parts in the workspace).

This is what SR3D Builder looks like in Win8.1 running in Parallels 9 on a Mac. Sergio, any idea what could be wrong?

With a part placed in workspace:

Hi
I do not know the emulation software but:
- if you have to install windows 8.1, ensure you install the proper directx version and the updated graphic adapter drivers in order to let the application work.
- also, it maybe the emulato does not support full screen antialiasing rendering. To try to fix it, go to the preferences dialog box and in the graphic tab choose "Basic shader" and "0 - (None)" in the multisample dropbox, then restart the program.

It maybe any of that will work
Please feedback
